The embedded learning opportunities (ELOs) educational practice involves short, planned teaching interactions that give infants and toddlers the chance to learn and practice high-priority learning objectives. These short interactions are planned so that they occur within ongoing activities, routines, and transitions at home, in group settings, and out in the community. ELOs are sometimes referred to as embedded teaching, activity-based intervention, naturalistic instruction, and incidental teaching. Use the presentation slides, presenter notes, learning activities, and other handouts to support education staff to plan for and use embedded learning opportunities to support infants and toddlers with disabilities or suspected delays.
