Early Head Start for Family Child Care Demonstration Project

In 2010, the Office of Head Start and the Office of Child Care collaborated on a 10-month demonstration project. Its purpose was to design, implement, and evaluate a replicable framework to support partnerships between Early Head Start (EHS) and family child care (FCC) providers. The lessons learned and materials created can serve as valuable resources for Early Head Start-Child Care (EHS-CC) Partnerships that include FCC partners.

The following materials may refer to previous versions of the Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS) and Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) regulations. When considering services and plans, programs need to follow the current HSPPS and CCDF Final Rule.

Programs can also use logic models and tools from the EHS for FCC Demonstration Project to plan EHS-CC Partnerships.
